I'm a huge Edwards fan and have read all of her books. So I was very excited to read Hot Under Pressure. I swear, she keeps getting better with every book. What makes this one stand out for me from the rest of the series is that I felt she really got very deep in the relationship between Beck and Skye while still keeping all the fun cooking competition in it. There is so much going on between Beck and Skye and you get drawn into their lives. I also love that Skye is a real woman both in the physical sense and her emotional presence. And Beck is wow. Is it just me or did he get even hotter this book than he was before?? The ending is truly a work of genius. I adored Beck and going with him on his emotional journey was worth every page. What a love story! I was literally crying on the elliptical machine while reading it. The book was so good, I didn't even mind getting in my workout. I think Edwards can do anything she puts her mind to, the sky is the limit for her. I can't wait to read what is next. I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone who loves contemporary romance and those who love all things culinary. I only wish I could give it SIX STARS instead of five.

Henry Beck and Skye Gladwell are the final two in the Rising Star Chef competition, each representing their restaurants for the prestige award. Beck and Skye also have personal history for they are still married after ten years and Skye wants Beck to finally grant her a divorce. He will, on one condition, that she spends one last night with him if his team wins the competition. Skye agrees to his proposition just to prove that she no longer has feelings for the man that left her with a broken heart. Beck, on the other hand, wants one more opportunity to convince Skye that he still loves her and they should try to mend their broken relationship. With the competition and his relationship at stake, Beck will have to present the most wonderful culinary dishes the judges have ever seen or risk losing everything that he has ever cared about.

This is the third and final book in the Rising Star Chef competition and I have to say that this one is my favorite. Beck has been this silent, brooding character known as the strong backbone of the Lunden's team, who always seemed to come up with these wonderful culinary masterpieces that helped in the competition. I was so glad that I finally was able to learn his back-story and how he was connected to the attractive chef, Skye. I was shocked to discover that these two were still married and throwing the two into this competition made them deal with emotions that both of them were suppressing for ten years. Skye was such a sweet character that has been dealing with the pain of love lost when Beck left her ten years ago to join the Navy. After one fateful day, Skye never heard from Beck again and she was left to pick up the pieces of her broken heart. I won't spoil it but when I found out the situation that they were in as a married couple when Beck left, I wanted to pull him out the novel and hit him until I learned the reasons as to why he left.

I understand that as young adults we make a lot of mistakes that we wish we could take back but in the end those mistakes make us a much better person. There were so many things that were left unsaid between Skye and Beck in the past and just a few words could have saved them so much heartbreak. These two were meant to be together as a couple and meeting again at the competition gave them an opportunity to pick up the pieces of their shattered relationship and build a new life together. Skye deserved that happiness and I was glad to see that Beck was able to make up for his past mistakes to show Skye that he has always loved her.

With this book, we get to see who won the Rising Star Chef competition and how each of the couples are doing after first getting together. I want to say that the epilogue was a beautiful way to end this series because it made me cry. I was so happy for everyone and I knew that everyone would be okay and that they were one big happy family. I love everything that Louisa Edwards writes and I can't wait to read her new series that is coming out soon. This book will stay with me awhile and I will remember to bring the tissues when I reread it later this year.

Love the concept of using a cooking competition as a conflict!! Great read!! I love this author's style. Can't wait to read more of her books!!!
If you like hot chefs you'll love this book. Main characters have a history. Like being married for a minute! Speed forward 10 years and the sexual tension is still hot and steamy.
Louisa Edwards saved the best for last in this amazing "Hot" Rising Star Chef trilogy. Henry Beck and Skye Gladwell are perfect together - absolutely sizzling with chemistry and full of emotion. This is the best kind of reunion romance, when you can still feel the love they never quite buried and get a glimpse into the history that brought them together and tore them apart. And speaking of being torn apart, get ready to cry your ever-lovin' eyes out. This story is an emotional rollercoaster and I absolutely loved the ride. Ms. Edwards writes with so much depth and paints such a vivid picture with every word. The characters pop, the pace is perfect, and this could be my favorite romance of the year so far. Wow. What's next?
I don't know that Hot Under Pressure is quite worth 5 stars, but since I gave Too Hot to Touch 4 stars and Some Like It Hot 3, and this was definitely the best in the series, it seemed only right to give it 5. As far as the cooking competition that has been the backdrop of the series, the outcome is pretty much expected - nothing riveting or surprising there. I did, though, find Skye and Beck to be the most believable couple of the series and I genuinely liked them as people and was happy to see them come back together. I felt like their's was a real romance and didn't leave me feeling like I was reading about a bunch of high schoolers (like I did in the first two series). While you get a little background info, obviously, on this couple from the other books in the series, it's not so much that you need to read them to enjoy this book. I'd say save your money, skip the first two and just read this one.
