I am so happy I bought this book. I am not a big fan of scary stories, but I love mysteries and traveling. And I wanted to surprise my husband (who is a big fan of horror movies and scary stuff) with a trip to a haunted place. I had no idea where to go till I read this book. So many ideas!This book is great. It gives detailed stories of the most scary places around USA (some are in our back yards, and we did not even know it). Plus, it includes tons of traveling tips at the end of each story: tour information, restaurants, including details about hosting parties and children's bday celebrations. It is a great collection of activities for those looking for a scary story and an off the beaten path trip. Very happy with my purchase!

This is a book about haunted houses and places that you can visit. It's a scary read in itself as Harrison Clancy gives details about the murders and deaths that occurred at each place and the subsequent paranormal activity. Some of these would make a great vacation or day trip. I like the pictures, the contact information and especially the youtube videos. This is a great book.
You can't trust the details given in this book. For example --
The Devil's Den the photo is not of Devil's Den, which is out of sight to the left of the scene. There's no "Little Big Top" at Gettysburg; the author probably means Little Round Top.
Lizzie Borden House the book says Fall River is a small town. It's actually the tenth largest city in Massachusetts.
My title pretty much sums it up. Short and sweet. It tells you a little about each place and some of the reports and that's about it. I am an avid Ghost Hunters watcher so I had already heard of these places due to the series and the invesstigations of each, so I already had heard the claims and reports. But for someone who wants to know of places they can go then this book is good for that.
Was an interesting read. Did not check the links tho.
I am a very big fan of ghosts and the paranormal and this book can really spark anyone's interest in history and the unexplained.
The details for each story are well explained and the author really did a great job in making it a very enjoyable read. In each place has a dark history and each ghost or apparition has a story to tell. For extra fun, read it home alone in the dark.
An awesome read for anyone looking for an interesting way to spend travel or leisure time.
If you are a fan of ghosts and places ghost live, you must have this book. The book is also a fun read.
The you tube videos are fun to watch and the personalization of each ghost that supposedly haunt the different places listed makes it easy to read. No matter where you go in the US ,there are haunted places to see.
The author does a great job of giving details about each site that make you want to go to them.It makes you frightened just to read the book.
